Projects were required to fall into one or more of five (5) federally established eligibility categories: facilities for bicycles and pedestrians; scenic or historic highway facilities; landscaping and other scenic beautification; preservation of abandoned railway corridors and conversion to use as pedestrian and bicycle trails; and environmental mitigation to address water pollution due to highway runoff. The last TEP solicitation was in 2013, and awards were announced in January 2014.
